Stephan’s Bar Mitzvah Short Film

We had an absolute blast capturing Stephan’s Bar Mitzvah. As soon as I met with Renata (Stephan’s Mom), I was very much looking forward to the possibility of covering her event. Firstly, a huge thank you must go out to Kara and Kristina from Mi and Mo Photography who got us in touch with Renata. Working with them is always so easy and this was certainly no different. Renata was very involved in the entire process of the planning and I knew that when she explained to me the essentials of the event, it was going to be something special. With the talents of Sonia and her amazing team at SoniaEvents, Renta’s dream really came true. We were honored to capture such an important day for the family and hope you enjoy Stephan’s Short Film.

Hotel Bel-Air – Alexis ~ Doug Wedding Short Film

Since the Hotel Bel-Air closed for renovations a couple years ago, I was always curious to see what type of improvements they had made. Earlier this year we were pleasantly surprised to see the upgraded hotel which were truly impressive. What I noticed the most were the guests rooms and main ballroom. As you watch the short film of Alexis and Doug, you will have the opportunity to see both the updated guest rooms and ballroom. We were certainly excited to be capturing an event at this amazing hotel. When Kim and Ashley from BK Events came into our studio with Alexis, we knew pretty quickly that we had a good fit. Alexis told me that her father was playing a very important role in designing the wedding. One of the most important pieces of the wedding day is the wedding dress and Alexis’ dad actually made the dress himself. It was an amazing gift and the dress was beautiful. Thanks so much to Kim and Ashely, who helped us through out the entire process. Thank you to Mundi who was a big part of coordinating with us, and to Claire Barrett from Claire Barrett Photography who was such a pleasure to work with as she was capturing the stills of the day. I certainly could not have done it without the help of the cinema team and appreciate the talents we all bring to the table. And finally thanks to Alexis and Doug for trusting in us to capture their special day. Enjoy the short film of Alexis and Doug.

The Wedding Salon – SLS Hotel Beverly Hills

For the second year running, we were happy to be a part of the most luxurious bridal show in the US. Set at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, we met many brides and educated them on the biggest trend in video for their wedding, Event Cinema. As we continue to educate brides in the differences between videography and Event Cinema, there has been great responses. What I have learned being in the business is that brides sometimes believe that videography is a vendor that is more of an ‘Addition‘ to the wedding. Photography has been around for over a hundred years and it has become a ‘Tradition” to have a photographer at their wedding. With the amazing talents of many Event Filmmakers around the world, brides are beginning to understand that video for their wedding is not only an addition, it is now becoming exactly as Photography, a Tradition. It has been an uphill battle for all videographers and Event Filmmakers to educate everyone on the advances in wedding video, but we are slowly getting there.

The below news clip shows the wedding salon show as a whole, but they interviewed me since the reporter was fasinated at what we do. It’s all about telling the story of the wedding day and not just about documenting the day. The more brides that understand that Event Cinema has become a Tradition, the better we will all be, and the brides will never have to say “That is my biggest regret. I wish we had video of our wedding. What a mistake”. I have have heard it too many times and know in my heart that after seeing our wedding short films, they will cherish it for years to come.

Westin Palm Springs – Allison ~ Tony Wedding Short Film

While a lot of the events we capture are in LA, we always enjoy getting out of our comfort zone and go to new places. Even though Palm Springs and theĀ The Westin Mission Hills Hotel is only a couple hours outside of LA, there is a totally different feel to the location and it is certainly a destination wedding. Allison and Tony were so awesome to work with and we appreciate them bringing us a long to capture their special memories. The wedding was planned by Sarajane from SJL Events and she was very helpful in all aspects of the wedding. A little while ago we shared with you the photographs of the wedding, now here is their short film. Thanks must go out to the amazing team we have here at custom | made. Without the team, we could not do what we do best.

Santa Monica Pier – Jack and Lexi B’nai Mitzvah – Full Length Short Film

We recently shared the trailer for Jack and Lexi’s B’nai Mitzvah, and now comes the really fun part. This event was such a blast to capture and the family allowed us to be as creative as we wanted to. They all helped in seeing our vision and truly understood that we were trying to make something special for them. Even though a synagogue and an amusement park have no similarities whatsoever, we were able to tell a story that included them both simultaneously throughout the entire short film. Having full access to Pacific Park at the Santa Monica Pier was very inspiring and we wanted to share the fun and happiness that happened that evening. We are very thankful to Jeff and Shay from Brown Hot Events who recommended us to the family. Whenever we work with Brown Hot, we know that there will not be any surprises and everything will be taken care of. This was a very well thought out event and we appreciate being a part of it. We have an incredible team here at custom | made and could not have done it without them. We hope you enjoy the short film of Jack and Lexi’s B’nai Mitzvah.
